Release notes
Morie IDE 0.46.0 (beta) — turns on rigs, rig names, log search
Released 2026-10-07 from e626a179. Since build 45.
What it is
The first build with a version number. Agents take turns on a rig (the ticket's running services), rigs that do not fit in memory wait in line, and rigs answer at names instead of ports. It also adds log search, Link existing PR and /fork. Do not install it: it opens a new, empty data folder instead of yours. Take 0.46.1, which is this build with that fixed.
New
- Turns on a rig: agents ask for a turn, shared or alone, and others queue; the rig card shows "In use by … · N waiting" with End turn, Move up and Remove.
- A turn limit: Settings → Rigs → "End an agent's turn on a rig after" N minutes. Off by default.
- The waiting line: "Wait in line: start when 1.5 GB is free" when a rig does not fit in the Morie Box (the Linux VM the rigs run in).
- Morie makes room for a waiting rig by stopping the longest-idle rig nobody is using ("Stopped to make room for #3").
- "Waiting to start" on the Rigs page, with Move up and Cancel; a notification when a rig starts from the line.
- Rig addresses: a rig answers at a name such as
https://shop-web-1.morie.test(a local HTTPS proxy) instead of127.0.0.1:41001. - Morie's own certificate (a local certificate authority) makes the browser trust those names; the rig's containers trust it too.
- "Also answers at": the ticket's Rigs tab → Addresses → Change… gives every ticket of a repository a name under your own domain.
- Settings → Rigs → Names and addresses → "Set up rig addresses" asks for your Mac password once; turning it off takes everything back out.
- Search a rig's logs: a field on the Logs tab, with Stop and ‹ › to jump between matches.
- Link existing PR…: the ⋯ beside Open PR links a pull request opened outside Morie.
- Link open pull requests on their own: Settings → Worktrees and branches. On by default.
- A model per Agent step: an automation's Agent step picks its Model, Default first.
- Settings → Automations → "Give up waiting for an Agent step's report after" N minutes. Off by default.
- /fork typed in a Claude Code or Codex chat forks it, the same as the Fork button.
- A version number: About says "Morie, Version 0.46.0 (beta)".
Changed
- Long jobs no longer freeze the app: Find in files, opening long chats and backups stay responsive while they run.
- Log redaction, folder scans and toolchain checks run in the background instead of holding up the window.
- The app menu says "Quit Morie", not "Quit morie-ide".
Fixed
- The spinner is back beside the thinking line; since 2026-09-29 it disappeared for the whole of every thinking block.
Known problems
- 0.46.0 opens a new, empty data folder; use 0.46.1.
- Signed with the local test identity and not notarized. macOS asks before it opens.
- Chrome's custom Secure DNS skips rig names; the Domain tip says which setting keeps them working. Firefox keeps its own certificates.
Upgrading
- Your data: untouched, but 0.46.0 does not see it. It looks in a new folder and shows the setup screen.
- At first launch: the setup screen and no projects. Install 0.46.1 instead.
- By hand: open it once through System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, as with every test build.
